Born in Savannah La Mar JA in 1950, Ronnie already attented local talent contest at the beginning of the sixties. In 1967 he moved to Kingston and here joined the Tennors, who already had scored hits like Pressure and Slide (backed by the great Jackie Mittoo, 1967) and Ride Yu Donkey (1968). They recorded a string of succesfull singles like The Stage, Another Scorcher and Weather Report (produced by Treasure Isle's Duke Reid, it versions Simon and Garfunkel's The Only Living Boy In New York). Eventually, he went solo and scored hits such as Won't You Come Home, Stop Yu Loafing, Jah Jah Jehovah, Forget Me Not, On and On, Babylon Falling, Pretend and others. Except for the here featured Chasing You, Ronnie also released Life & Breath and I Lost My Lover on Impact. Dub takes on Chasing You can be found on Jamaican Recordings' Ronnie Davis in Dub and Treasure Isle in Dub. In 1976, he abadoned his solo career and joined Keith Porter and Roy Smith to form The Itals, and scored a big hit with Brutal.
