Dennis Alcapone - Stars Version (D.Smith/C.Campbell)

Reissue, original 1972
Produced by Clive Chin for Above Rock, matrix AB42495.

Lloyd Parks was born in Kingston in 1948, and at the end of the sixties formed the Invincibles band together with Sly Dunbar and Ansel Collins. Then he joined the Termites (backing included also Bobby Kalphat), scored a few hits, notably Have Mercy mr Percy, recorded an album for Coxsone's Studio One (Do The Rocksteady, 1967), and then shortly replaced Pat Kelly in the Techniques. At the beginning of the seventies he went solo and scored hits with Slaving, Mafia and others. Lloyd was also a very productive studio bass player on many recordings and member of Skin, Flesh & Bones, the Revolutionairies, Joe Gibbs' Professionals and the We The People Band. He also released Funny Say of Loving on Impact as a single and recorded part of his 1976 album Loving You at Randy's. The flipside features a deejay version by the great Dennis Alcapone (Stars version was earlier released as an original A side).
