As many of his fellow Jamaican singers, Keith Poppin started in the music business at Studio One in the sixties. In the seventies he was part of Rocking Horse and scored a few hits on the Federal, Randys and Impact labels. After that he went solo and released tunes like Same Thing For Breakfast on the Spiderman label, Get Together on Glen Brown's Pantomine, Envious for Phil Pratt, Some a Dem A Go Shame for Keith Chin and the roots classic Hold Not Thy Peace. Whenever There's Moonlight is a decent version of the Jackie Edwards original, but certainly not one of his best efforts. On the Impact label he also released Ran Daughter.
